I think we would all agree that we have had a classic “Canadian” winter this year. Some might argue that we have had more winter than we need. The winter weather, however, was perfect for the 46th annual Richmond Hill Winter Carnival. We had great attendance on both Saturday and Sunday. The school hockey tournament, the bed races, our mascot Oopkpik, burgers, fries, pancake breakfast, and the skydivers delighted people of all ages. I always appreciate an opportunity to bring our community together, and the Winter Carnival has been one of these opportunities for the past 46 years. I have been a part of the organizing committee for some time now and I know it is a lot of work to put this event on for our community. To our dedicated Winter Carnival Committee and the team of volunteers that worked long hours (since June) to to make the Carnival happen again this year – thank you for your contribution to our community. I look forward to next year’s Carnival – see you then!
