Richmond Hill -A Vibrant and Active Community

ward 4It has been a great summer so far, (aside from most of the grass in Southern Ontario being quite brown at the moment) the weather has been great – and perfect for partaking in the many events going on in our community. I hope you and your family can get out to one of our Concerts in the Park, go for a bike ride on our many trails, or play in one of our many great parks (including Rouge Crest Park which is garnering awards and positive attention from park planners from other jurisdictions due to its unique and creative design). Details of some of these activities are contained in this newsletter below.

To add to the list of possibilities, I will be hosting my 3rd Annual BBQ in Larrat Lea Park on August 23rd from 5 – 7PM (see below for details). I hope you can join me for a burger and an ice cream. There will be lots of community information booths set up to let people know what is happening in Ward 4 and beyond, fun activities for the kids, and did I mention there will be ice cream? Please note the new location. Larrat Lea Park is off Shaftsbury Road at the intersection of Brookside Drive.

Later in August I will be hosting a Residents’ Meeting regarding a significant development application at the corner of Brookside Drive and Yonge Street. This is one of many development proposals that are active in our ward at the moment. If you live in this area I would encourage you to attend the meeting to learn more about the proposal. Details of this meeting are also contained below in this newsletter.

Thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter. I always appreciate hearing from you regarding any issue in the town.
