Happy New Year

Newsletter Jan15
I hope everyone had a great holiday season and I wish everyone a prosperous New Year.

It may be cold outside but there is a lot going on in our community over the coming weeks. An event that has been a favourite of mine for many years (since I was in high school) is the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival. The Carnival is in its 47th year and has, for generations, provided affordable family fun for our residents young and old. It would appear that Mother Nature we will bless us with great skating ice and perfect winter conditions on the Mill Pond again this year! Our committee of dedicated volunteers has been working hard to bring the Carnival to life so I hope to see you and your family there on February 6-8th.

Additionally, the Mill Pond and the Skate Trail at Richmond Green is open for skating. We also have a great network of trails available to our residents for walking. The beauty of the season is all around as you walk on many of these trails so I would invite you and your family to get out and enjoy all that Richmond Hill has to offer in the winter! As we are approaching “budget season”, we have been busy at Council. I am happy to hear from residents at any time and on any subject, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns, kudos, or suggestions. My email address is [email protected], my cell number is 416-346-3090 and my office number is 905-771-2480.

Sincerely,
David West

P.S. The banner photo above is taken at Karindon Park at the end of Oxford Street in Richmond Hill. From this park you can walk south on our trail system all the way to the Mill Pond. It was a lovely day for a walk and I am glad I brought my camera!
