Every year, Doors Open Ontario attracts large crowds across Ontario. From April to October, residents and visitors are invited to discover first-hand Ontario’s hidden heritage treasures, some of which have never been open to the public. Since the program was launched in 2002, nearly seven million visits have been made to heritage sites participating in this exciting initiative. Doors Open Ontario, now considered a cultural phenomenon, will continue in 2017 with hundreds of communities participating across the province. Ontario is celebrating the 150th anniversary of Confederation. It’s a special moment in our history and a great opportunity for Ontarians to explore our past and imagine our future.
This year, Doors Open Ontario will showcase special MyOntario programming to explore a once-in-a-generation chance to share your stories, perspectives and traditions.
From historical houses to modern marvels of construction, Doors Open Ontario showcases the buildings, natural spaces, infrastructure and cultural landscapes that shape and define our communities.
