Residents looking to exchange damaged or broken Richmond Hill labelled blue boxes and/or green bins can once again do so for free.
Council has eliminated the $8.45 exchange fee that was initially introduced in August 2020 to help offset replacement costs. This change is effective retroactive to June 22, 2021.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, waste bin sales/exchanges were paused from January 13 to June 21, 2021.
Residents who paid to exchange a damaged Richmond Hill labelled blue box and/or green bin between June 22 and September 22, 2021 will be issued a refund.
How to get a refund
Note that refunds are limited to a maximum of two bins per household.
